Gaited Horse Training in Colorado

With over 20 years of riding experience, Bridget brings a knowledgeable, confident, and empathetic approach to horse development. Every training program is built around a partnership between trainer, horse, and owner, with the goal of creating lasting success both during training and long after your horse returns home.
Rather than following a one-size-fits-all system, Bridget develops an individualized program tailored to each horse's physical abilities, temperament, and stage of development, while keeping your personal goals at the center of the process. Drawing from classical dressage, natural horsemanship, and equine biomechanics, she creates thoughtful training plans that help horses build confidence, strength, and understanding. While her primary focus is developing Tennessee Walking Horses for the trail, Bridget welcomes all gaited breeds at Perry Park Ranch in Larkspur, Colorado. Her in-depth understanding of equine gait mechanics allows her to help each horse develop strength, balance, and relaxation to maximize their natural gaiting ability. Whether starting with foundational skills or refining an experienced horse, her priority is producing safe, sound, confident trail partners. A well-rounded horse comes from a variety of experiences. Training incorporates arena work alongside real-world exposure through trail rides, varied terrain, and new environments, helping horses develop the confidence and reliability needed to become enjoyable partners wherever the trail leads. Whether you are looking for a single training ride, a tune-up, or a comprehensive training program, we work alongside you to achieve your goals. Owners are encouraged to be involved as much as they would like, and every training ride can be converted into a lesson so you can learn alongside your horse and develop the skills to continue your journey together. Horses in full training receive regular progress updates, photos, and open communication so you remain connected to your horse's development every step of the way. Our goal is not simply to train your horse—it is to build a lasting partnership between horse and rider, providing the knowledge and foundation for success long after the training program is complete. |
Young Horse TrainingExperience the rewarding journey of developing your own young horse without having to navigate it alone. Our comprehensive young horse development program is designed to partner with owners, providing expert guidance, individualized training, and exceptional care while allowing you to be as involved in the process as you choose.
Rather than focusing on a single stage of training, we take a long-term approach to raising and developing young gaited horses. Every aspect of your horse's program—from handling and education to nutrition, turnout, and preventative care—is thoughtfully coordinated to support healthy physical and mental development. We work closely with each owner to create a program that aligns with their goals, ensuring your horse receives consistent, age-appropriate education while you gain confidence and knowledge along the way. Our youngsters begin by mastering essential life skills such as leading, standing for the farrier, loading into a trailer, and exploring new environments with curiosity and confidence. As each horse matures, they progress at an individual pace through in-hand work, round pen exercises, ground driving, ponying, and other foundational skills that prepare them for a successful transition to under-saddle work and, ultimately, a dependable career as a trail horse. We believe young horses thrive with ample turnout and opportunities to simply be horses. Our pasture and dry lot options allow us to meet the needs of each individual while promoting healthy growth, soundness, and social development. Balanced nutrition, routine veterinary and farrier care, regular deworming, and attentive daily management complete our holistic approach. Whether you want to participate in every milestone or prefer to entrust the day-to-day development to experienced professionals, we become part of your team. Our goal is not simply to train your young horse, but to help you develop a confident, well-rounded equine partner while supporting you throughout the journey. |
